Hey guys. Today I’m showing you how to make Black Bean Burgers. The Black bean burgers are a great choice if you’re vegetarian, adjudicating to cut out a bit of meat and fats. Or just want a healthy burger like a choice.

To start with our veggies Burger. we’ll place half of a red onion into a food processor along with 4 cloves of garlic, and this is optional. But I like to add in 1 or 2 chipotles in adobo peppers for a bit of heat. Then we’ll go ahead and dart the lid on and pulse all if this until it’s finely minced.

Next, we’ll move on to our black beans. You’ll require two 50 ounce cans of black beans. You want to remove off all of that liquid that arrives with the beans. And then you’ll just want to clean these off. Then we’ll add those black beans into the food processor as well. After that, we’ll pulse it once again and it’s okay if you leave some black beans whole if you want a bit of texture on your Black Bean Burger. Or you can mash them all up into little bits. Then we’ll transfer this all to a large mixing bowl.

Next, you’ll need some binding agents. So we’ll add in two eggs and one cup of plain breadcrumbs, that’ll help hold this all together. Then you’ll want to season it with 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cumin, 3/4 teaspoon of salt, and half tbsp of black pepper. Then we’ll stir this all together. Variety of paste those eggs in until everything mixed very well and the elements are exactly divided. Now you can change things up and add whatever you like of spices. I like the cumin for the course that it pairs really well with the chipotle like a Mexican flair. You could also do like Italian flavoring… honestly, anything will operate… just test for this Black Bean Burgers.

Next, I’m going to use a half-cup measuring cup to scoop out some of that black bean mixture. Then I’m going to use my hands to shape this into a nice little patty. You should get about 6 patties depending on how big or small you made them. Now there’s no diminution with these like there is with popular meat patties. So make sure you make your patties the exact size that you want for your bun. Now at this time, you can put them in the freezer and refrigerate the ones you’re not going to use for next use, or we can prepare them up. Then there’re three choices for how to cook the Black Bean Burger.

1) You can cook your black bean burger out on an outdoor grill. Just make sure it’s well oiled, so they don’t stick.

2) You can bake them in a 400-degree oven for 10 minutes, flip them halfway through.

3) Or you’re going to cook your burger in a skillet on the stove like me.

So I’ll continue by adding in just a bit of olive oil to spread the bottom of the pan. Instead, you can apply vegetable oil, and later just add in your patties. And we’ll cook these for about five minutes per side. Later nearly five minutes just give them a soft flip. Then you’ll want to select usually some of your aspired toppings and you are able to eat your Veggies Burgers.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 large red onion chopped
  • 1-2 whole chipotle peppers in adobo sauce optional
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 15 ounces cans black beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup plain bread crumbs
  • teaspoons cumin
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs

Notes

1 Place onion, chipotle, and garlic into a food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Add in the black beans and pulse until the black beans are partially chopped, leaving some whole or partial beans. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.
2 Stirs in the bread crumbs, cumin, salt, pepper, and eggs until well combined.
3 Divides up the mixture to form 8 patties.
4 When ready to cook choose one of the following options: SKILLET
  • Heat a lightly oiled skillet to medium-high heat. Cook for 5 minutes on each side.
  • BAKED: Bake in a 400-degree oven for 5 minutes each side. GRILLED: Cook on an outdoor grill for 5 minutes each side.
5 Serve hot on a bun with desired toppings.
